XTerra MS C18

by WATERS

The XTerra® family of HPLC columns, based upon first generation hybrid particles, allows chromatographers to use high pH for drug discovery, method development and purification separations.

DMSO injection resistance of the rugged XTerra particle imparts long column lifetimes in high-throughput drug discovery applications

Wide pH range lets method development scientists operate at the pH necessary for optimal selectivity

High mass loading capacity lets isolation and purification scientists load up to 60x more material per injection

XTerra® columns combine the best properties of silica and polymers with the revolutionary patented* Hybrid Particle Technology, which replaces one out of every three silanols with a methyl group during synthesis. This hydrophobicity is distributed through the entire structure of the particle backbone, resulting in a rugged hybrid (inorganic/organic) particle that can be operated at:

  • High speeds
  • High temperatures
  • High pH.

XTerra MS C18 columns are general purpose, hybrid-based, reversed-phase C18 columns that are designed to be compatible with mass spectrometry applications. These first generation columns provide superior pH stability compared to a silica-based column. The direct connect hardware configuration provides a convenient column connection compared to conventional columns.

How similarity is calculated
Eligible families receive a weighted score from Modification (25%), Product Usage (20%), Carbon Load (15%), Endcapping (10%), Pore Size (10%), Surface Area (8%), pH Stability (8%) and Particle Size (4%). The score uses data available in both families and requires at least three comparable criteria, at least 50% data coverage and a minimum 55% score. A relevant active sponsor may appear first and is always labelled Sponsored.
A similarity score does not guarantee identical selectivity or performance. Confirm suitability under the intended method conditions.
No other-Vendor Brand family with the same Mode and Modification meets the comparable-data and similarity thresholds.
