Cronusil-L Phenyl

by LabHut

Cronusil-L 3µm Ph HPLC Column 4.60x40mm

Cronus Phenyl HPLC Columns

Reverse phase material that is useful for analyzing aromatic compounds
Phenyl shows weak dipole - induced dipole interactions with polar analytes. Usually, this type of bonded phase is used for group separations of complex mixtures. Amino-compounds show some specific interactions with phenyl modified adsorbent.

Cronus Cronusil-L HPLC Columns
Cronusil-L is a range of totally new packings that employ the most advanced procedures of synthesis and chemical functionalization. This results in packings that completely surpass other silica-based packings on the market.

Features
Perfectly Spherical Ultra Pure Silica

The characteristics of silica packings are unsurpassable for reverse phase chromatography. No other packing material achieves the perfect balance of physical resistance, functional use, chemical inertness, reproducibility and efficiency. Ultra Pure silica is also compatible with practically all solvents.
When developing Cronusil columns, Cronus focused on offering you the optimal silica particle.
To manufacture the silica particle we begin with materials of extreme purity and follow strictly controlled processes to avoid any possibility of contamination. In this way, we produce a totally porous, perfectly spherical particle, without surface irregularities and with an extremely low content of metals (Al, Fe, Ti and Zn.)

Exceptional batch to batch reproducibility
Rigorous and numerous process variable controls allow us to guarantee high quality and exceptional reproducibility in all our columns and packings.
Stringent controls on our manufacturing process allow us to obtain a material with a perfectly reproducible porosity and surface area, with a practical absence of micropores. In other competitors' packings, these micropores cause chromatagraphic problems due to incomplete substitution of the support, while in the Cronus Cronusil packings, micropores are totally eliminated.

Maximum pH Range (between 1.5 and 11.0)
Cronusil-M and Cronusil-P both let you work with eluents from pH 1 to pH 12, whilst Cronusil-L has a pH range of pH 1.5 to pH 11. Such unusual pH-resistance values have been secured as a result of phase bonding efficiency and a proprietary endcapping process which provides a protective shield impeding acidic and basic eluents from attacking the silica surface.
Until quite recently, silica packings were limited to working between pH 2 and pH 7 since below pH 2 the bonds between the C18 chains and the silica particle were hydrolysed, resulting in a gradual loss of retention capacity of the column. Above pH 7 the problem that arose was one of simply dissolving the silica, and therefore the pure destruction of the column. These issues cease to be a problem with the use of Cronusil-M, Cronusil-P and Cronusil-L.

Fully Deactivated after Functional Bonding
Excellent Retention of Polar Compounds
Additionally, Cronusil-M has been designed to show an excellent retention of polar compounds in a 100% aqueous environment without the problems of unwanted interactions that inefficiently endcapped conventional packings produce.
The Cronusil-M packing achieves levels of deactivation, resistance to extreme pH values and versatility in its chromatographic applications never reached by conventional or polar-embedded reverse phase packings.
Chromatogram Comparison
The obtained deactivation is shown when we make chromatograms of a group of Basic compounds in neutral pH conditions, including a neutral compound (acenaphthene) as a comparison. Of the four tested columns, Cronusil-M is the one that shows the greatest efficiency, whether measuring with the acenaphthene or with a peak as difficult as that of amitriptyline. The same occurs if we compare the asymmetry values of the peaks.

Fluido Dynamic behaviour
Fluido-dynamic behaviour is the behaviour of fluid moving through a column or silica bed.
The lack of fines and voids in the packing material results in a stable flow pattern throughout the length of the column providing consistent chromatography.

How similarity is calculated
Eligible families receive a weighted score from Modification (25%), Product Usage (20%), Carbon Load (15%), Endcapping (10%), Pore Size (10%), Surface Area (8%), pH Stability (8%) and Particle Size (4%). The score uses data available in both families and requires at least three comparable criteria, at least 50% data coverage and a minimum 55% score. A relevant active sponsor may appear first and is always labelled Sponsored.
A similarity score does not guarantee identical selectivity or performance. Confirm suitability under the intended method conditions.
