Inertsil SIL-100A

by GL Sciences

Inertsil SIL-100A

  • Widely recognized as one of the finest silicas ever created for chromatography

GL Sciences was the first company to emphasize the critical importance of silica-gel purity and silanol "speciation" ( e.g. optimizing isolated, vicinal, geminal, and siloxane ratios ) in creating a silica with optimal chromatographic properties.
Inertsil SIL-100A° represents, to this day in 2007, the best-of-the-best silica material available in the chromatography industry. It is the basis for the advanced Inertsil 3-Series, and is available in 3, 5, and 8 micron particle size in column configurations ranging from capillary to 50mm ID preparative sizes for normal phase chromatography.
The Inertsil 3-series represents a major advance in performance over the original Inertsil 2-Series. Inertsil 3-Series phases, including ODS-3, ODS-3V, ODS-P, ODS-EP, C8-3, Ph-3, CN-3, NH2, Diol, and SIL-100A°, are based on a purer, higher surface area silica which is specially manufactured to provide maximum bonded phase coverage. The result is a series of columns which provide excellent peak shapes using simple eluents while operating at low pressure.
Inertsil phases are known to provide excellent results and long column life at pH levels of 9-10. However, optimum column life may be achieved at a pH between 2 and 7.5.

How similarity is calculated
Eligible families receive a weighted score from Modification (25%), Product Usage (20%), Carbon Load (15%), Endcapping (10%), Pore Size (10%), Surface Area (8%), pH Stability (8%) and Particle Size (4%). The score uses data available in both families and requires at least three comparable criteria, at least 50% data coverage and a minimum 55% score. A relevant active sponsor may appear first and is always labelled Sponsored.
A similarity score does not guarantee identical selectivity or performance. Confirm suitability under the intended method conditions.
