SUPELCOSIL™ Hisep™ HPLC Column
5 μm particle size, L × I.D. 5 cm × 4.6 mm
SUPELCOSIL™ HPLC Columns
Traditional HPLC columns, similar to Hypersil™
Our SUPELCOSIL silica-based HPLC column line includes over 40 bonded phase chemistries, in a range of particle sizes and column configurations from microbore to preparative scale. It is the original high quality Supelco product line referenced in many USP methods.
In the case of a few SUPLECOSIL phases, we have recommended alternatives based on more advanced column technology.
Direct Serum Injection
SUPELCOSIL™ Hisep HPLC Column
Direct injection of biological samples eliminates time-consuming cleanup steps and increases analytical accuracy.
The Hisep column uses a shielded hydrophobic phase (SHP) for its mechanism of separation. The silica-based material is covered with a thin polymer consisting of hydrophobic regions in a hydrophilic network. Small analytes, such as pharmaceuticals, penetrate the hydrophilic network and are retained on the hydrophobic moieties. The hydrophilic network shields protein molecules from contact with the surface and hydrophobic groups; hence, these molecules are not retained.
Excellent column stability and an ability to exclude proteins over a wide pH range set apart Hisep columns from other direct serum injection columns and techniques.
Not recommended for LC-MS analysis.
